I just realized how I can make friends in my new town

I'll post an ad on the campus bulletin board saying that I'm a woman new to the area and that I'd love to find someone to hang out with, show me the area, and introduce me to BSG and Buffy/Angel.

FOOLPROOF.

I'd answer that add. Especially if you added A^engers to it. ;)

Yesss, will do :D I was originally going for the "shows I've only seen bits of" angle, since that seems to get geeks' attentions quickly (as I found with Firefly/Serenity lol).

I'm tempted to add "Like snakes?" to it, or I could just loiter around the local pet stores :p

Wow. That ad would massively appeal to my geek tendencies. (Seriously, those are the shows I've been thinking of marathoning; my mom just found our BSG DVDs, and Buffy/Angel are on Netflix!)

I've seen the first two seasons of Buffy, one ep of Angel (puppets!), and the first season of BSG (bad nerd, I know lol). I know there's geeks in town (at the very least, masses of theater nerds), but I figure being straight up honest will help as well :p

And if no one answers my ad, I can always watch/live chat with you <3

I can teach you some theatre geek shorthand, if you're interested.

I may have to take you up on that :p
