I just love the way you`ve portait all of them, John, Dean and Sam. I love how you`re pictured Dean and the early stage of his drinking *problem*. I always thought he`s started drinking as much as he did in season 4 because he`s been drowning his problems (and emotions) in alcohol before already. Reading this story is as if I`ve been watching a preseries episode which confirmes my thoughts.
