- I need to stop napping in the afternoon and just go to bed earlier >.>

- I've been eying all the happy posts involving signing up for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang and despite having come up with an idea for it (sans plotting of any sort), I think I'm going to pass :/ (Except I checked and I have til Feb 1st to make up my mind and man, now what).

- Morning shift and I hate each other still (not the people, just the timing of it all). I blame it on being so fucking early (clock in at 6:53am). Not a morning person, unless that's when I'm going to bed. Add to that the fact that my truck is sparkling like Edward Cullen every morning due to the thick layer of ice* and I can't seem to get the hang of waking up in time to deal with it all and just, argh. Three more months of it. I think the first or second week in April is when I get to switch back to night shift ♥

- I was reminded there's the SPN con in SF this weekend. I, for the first time ever, have the weekend off. Still broke-ish though**, and yet there's a voice in my head going "Dude. Go." Torn now :/ (It'd be my first con, and I have no idea what to expect. I know there are generally day passes but would I even be interested/what do they offer. I don't tend to watch con videos/read reports due to various reasons, and I'm not sure how that would transfer to rl). But meeting fandom people! *wants*

Is anyone on my flist going? Or know people who are?

*Yes, it's not snow. But it's central coastal California. The closest thing I have to an ice scraper is my PetCo savings card (like most people around here).
**This also means paid account could be put off again, if con-things happen.

Dude- GO. I went to my first con in 07 and I didn't know what to expect. It was amazing! Not only do you get to meet LJ friends, but you get to meet other people in RL as well as meet the actors. It is an addition, tho. I've been to 7 Stargate Cons and will be at my first SPN on in August (I got autograph/photo op with Misha!)

It's pretty amazing. I would really consider going, especially if it's in your back yard.

It's close, but I wouldn't really have money to do anything else, which is why I'm hesitating. I'm leaning towards picking a later con and giving myself a chance to save up. LA's only ~6 hours away, so I sort of consider that backyardish :p

Going at some point is definitely on my list though :D (and omg Misha!)

True- there are other SPN cons. I'll be at the Vancouver one in August. I know I'll be there Saturday since Misha will be there, but not sure about Sunday for J2. I think I might go deaf. =)

Oooh, I love having reasons to drive up to Canada :D And I've never been to Vancouver *tempted*

Really? Cool! You have a passport, correct? You will need it. They are strict at the border. I don't have my tickets yet, but I'll be in the back for this con. It's my first SPN one. If you need people to hang out- I'll be with a few friends. Very cool people who are also into Stargate as I am.

Misha, Jensen, Jared. Now they just need to add Mark Sheppard and I will die happy.

I do :D And knowing that you're up for me tagging along makes me more willing to crash it :p (I really have no idea who's going to be at SF this weekend, so I'm not sure who I'd hang out with).

Hmmm, I may need to start plotting for it :p

Keep an eye out for the tickets here: http://www.creationent.com/cal/supernatural_van.htm The cheapest seats are not up on the site yet, but you can subscribe to the site and they can email/tweet when different tickets go on sale. Day tickets tend to be about $99 a day, approx. If you do decide to splurge, ebay sometimes has tickets right before the con. I know they always do for SG cons- not as such about SPN. I already bought my Misha tickets as Jared and Jensen ones sell out fast and I didn't know about Misha yet. I still don't have a con ticket yet LOL. In the area of the hotel, there are lots of restaurants and cafes, so food is not an issue.

Good thing about it is its not until the end of August so there is plently of time for tickets. I'm most likely going to buy my tickets when I get my tax return next month.
=)

I crashed a SPN con (didn't buy tickets, spent the night in a friend's hotel room, etc.) and it was still fun. I met some cool people. I'd say go for it, particularly if the cost of transportation is not an issue.

I have had to spend 30 minutes deicing my car. California > Midwest. :(

I always feel like a brat complaining about weather here :p I need to save it for when the next earthquake hits or something lol.

I'm torn between crashing this weekend or saving up for a later con and being able to splurge a little. Decisions are hard :p

Obviously, you know my thoughts on the con. :D I've never been to a SPN one, but my older sister went to LA Con 2009 and will be at this one, so I can ask her any questions you might have.

I'm a bad influence because I totally encourage signing up for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang! It's a decent commitment, but it was one of the highlights of my year last year. (And I'm totally curious about your idea, so yeah, purely selfish motivations here.)

It gets colder here than in California, and we get snow more often, and you'll still find a lot of people using cards as scrapers. I had to get one of my friends a brush/scraper for Christmas because he was commuting through the snowier areas and using a gift card to clean off his windshield.

Heee, yes :D I'm trying to decide if I want to do it all last minute and hope it works out or pick a con further away so I'll have more time to plot and save. Hmmmm.

Maybe if I get my Gabe BB under control I'll seriously consider the J2 one :p I had been thinking of taking a break from exchanges/bb's so I could get through my list of other fic to write, but I have several ideas that could be expanded and used. (I'd love to talk about it through chat or something, if you're interested. I get self-conscious about ideas before I actually do something with them lol).

I'm only used to needing water to take care of ice, so the fact that using a gift card is making me side-eye mornings confirms that I'm not really cut out for living in harsh conditions :p

I don't know anyone who is going, and I'm way too far away BUT YOU NEED TO GO! And then I can envy you later.

I'm debating this one (just cause it'd be tight financially, even just gas money), but even so, I'm hoping to make one soonish. It'd be nice to go while the show's still on the air lol.

GO!

I keep forgetting about the stupid ice. Today you have no idea how excited I was that I wasn't going to be horribly late for work due to stupid ice. I'm crossing my finger no ice tomorrow either....

I may have an alternate (cheaper) fandom gathering as an option, so not going to the SPN con won't be too horrible :p

Oh man, same here :D I was all prepared with two large bottles of water (for once), so figures there was no ice :p Hopefully it'll stay sort of overcast/warmer than clear tonight *crosses fingers*
